Thomas Weitz is the Senior Manager of Digital Marketing at San Francisco Ballet. Prior to working at the Ballet, Thomas held a similar position at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. Thomas found his way to digital arts marketing through his dual identity as a web developer and theatre director. While living in Chicago he worked as a teacher and web development consultant during the day, and a theater director at night. It wasn’t until he worked at Steppenwolf that he discovered a way to combine his two interests. Thomas got his start in technology and the performing arts in New York. He lived there for a number of years before moving to Chicago. He was the assistant to the Producing Director of Music-Theatre Group (Running ManJuan DarienArjuna’s Dilemma), a theater production company specializing in the development of new works, and frequent collaborator of Diane Paulus (HairPippin) and her husband Randy Weiner (Co-Founder of Emursive, Queen of the Night). When Thomas wasn’t working in NY theater he was a web designer for various startup companies in the New York area. Thomas holds a BFA in Media Studies from Pitzer College, one of the Claremont Colleges, and an MFA in Directing from DePaul University.
