Lynette Shy is the Director of Marketing, Sales and Communications at BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio. Her professional journey in the arts began in 2003 when she founded a non-profit performing arts group. Over its 13 years of existence, her non-profit raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities that help replace diminishing art programs in schools. In 2012, Lynette joined the BalletMet marketing team and became director of the department in 2014. Under her leadership, BalletMet transitioned from traditional-based marketing strategies to utilizing robust digital arts marketing campaigns, with a focus on storytelling through photo, video, social media, and other online platforms. Her team at BalletMet has taken home four Emmy awards for their work.
When she’s not talking strategy, Lynette loves helping people discover, and fall in love with, new art forms. She also enjoys going to concerts with her kids, soccer games with her husband and browsing local thrift stores for unusual items.
